[ STOP IT'S BECAUSE I ALREADY ASKED FOR A PC. but now we are here and apollo is in the library like the nerd he is. he's at least dressed down today instead of in his attorney suit, so he probably looks more college-aged than anything. also help he's phoenix's protege basically.
anyway there's a slow blink because. what are you reading. why are you reading that. ]
Um. I don't know? If everything's free, maybe, but this is a library. The rules might be different.
Sasaki also looks like a college student because he is one... he's changed as well but I'm too lazy to look up a fit because it's just a normal boring dude outfit.
He's reading this. He has no idea what omegaverse is though so it's all flying over his head.]
I haven't seen anyone around to ask... [Unless there are staff here that I missed in my sleepiness]
also, cool, he's gonna die. he doesn't know about the omegaverse probably but he is staring at the cover and letting his eyebrows lift higher and higher. my guy. should you be reading this in public???? ]
I still haven't seen anyone else either. Everyone I've talked to is someone who was offered a vacation, too. I thought maybe someone would have shown up by now, but nothing.
[ he's wandering in and out of one of the conference rooms to set some things up, so eventually he comes out and reenters the lobby. it's hard to say if sasaki is coming or going from the hotel, but he does lift his head in a short greeting. ]
Sasaki. [ just a quiet note. he's a little more tense and serious than the last time they spoke, but uh. a lot's happened. people died. and he hasn't quite gotten past that, but he's slightly used to this after several murder trials under his belt though, so.... ] ... how are you holding up?
I must have just missed you when I walked out then. I ended up in a spa with a bunch of other people. [ and he's not thrilled. ] But good. We don't need any more people hurt after this morning.
[There's only one thing that could mean, but he looks very much like he doesn't want to finish the thought himself and draw the inevitable conclusion. NORMIE DENIAL.]
...So then, you think someone... [...Hesitates. Forces himself to say it.] attacked them?
[And--Sasaki is a normie, yes, but he's not an idiot. Unless it's a robot gone rogue, they haven't seen anyone but their vacation group for a whole week. So he can see the pieces that are waiting to be put together, even if he wants so badly not to understand.]
Well all of that is insanely creepy and he actually feels worse about all this now than he did before, but instead of thinking about that, Sasaki just tries his phone again, like a true modern.
anyway, apollo's a little shaken himself, so he figures it's best to repress that and focus on something else. it's why he stops when he sees what sasaki's doing and frowns a little. ]
It's not even showing a connection now. [Not that he ever figured out you can call other people here but still.] I should just throw it away at this rate.
I wonder if it ever really did at all. [ if the whole thing was just a weird simulation to begin with. but he shakes his head. ] It's not worth keeping. Tomorrow morning we'll head out and figure out how to get out of this place and go home. Our stuff might still be somewhere in the hotel, too.
[ this is a hard question because apollo's not exactly an optimist. simultaneously though he knows better than to be a bummer right now, especially to a normal teenager, and to be honest? he also is ready to go home, frankly. ]
We haven't experienced anything like that before. And we disabled everything that could've kept us in there. I think... we're just going to have to move as soon as the doors are open. [ there's a pause. ] I don't know if they even know we're awake. I haven't seen anybody else yet.
[ he's starting to wonder if whoever (whatever) brought them here left them alone thinking they wouldn't get themselves out. ]
But I'm going to believe this wasn't all for nothing, yeah.
[Honestly, this sort of approach is probably the best anyway. Forced optimism would ring hollow, especially from a guy who has proven himself to be incredibly facts-driven. Sasaki wouldn't classify himself as particularly analytical in nature, but he is a fairly reasonable person in most situations, so having something small and concrete to grasp is better than any soap bubble comforts.]
...Right. It's progress, at least. [He has no real reason to believe they'll be totally freed tomorrow, but things have changed, and they can work with that.] Even if this is really creepy.
[ honestly that's also why it's easier to talk to sasaki, apollo knows how to deliver facts and doesn't always have to pretend to believe something he doesn't. on the other hand, he does miss his optimistic sidekick so what can you do. there's a hum of agreement because progress is progress, and he'll take that. ]
Progress over perfection, as they say. Having seen and felt what their idea of perfection's like? No thanks. [ there's a deep sigh though as he folds his arms over his chest. ] But it is really creepy and I still haven't even figured out why.
[ Maybe the why really is just that we were all stupid or desperate enough to say yes to the offer. ]
week 1, monday
By which I mean this is in the library. Sasaki holds up the BL he's reading without an ounce of shame.]
Do you think we can take these home?

You'd think they'd at least have an information booth or something.
no subject
[ he trails off as he actually tunes into what sasaki is reading. OKAY. WELL. ]
You didn't get that from this library, did you?
no subject
[Holds it out in offering.]

[Thanks Sasaki.]
I think this one is some niche genre, though? I don't recognize a lot of the terms they're using, like "alpha" and "heat" and stuff.
[THANKS SASAKI.]

Sasaki. [ just a quiet note. he's a little more tense and serious than the last time they spoke, but uh. a lot's happened. people died. and he hasn't quite gotten past that, but he's slightly used to this after several murder trials under his belt though, so.... ] ... how are you holding up?
no subject
...Well. To the two new deaths, anyway.]
A little sore... I got locked in the library last night, for some reason. But I'm okay.
[He is not okay at all actually but at this point there have been so many freak deaths that he's kind of halfway disassociated about it.]
no subject
I must have just missed you when I walked out then. I ended up in a spa with a bunch of other people. [ and he's not thrilled. ] But good. We don't need any more people hurt after this morning.
no subject
With some trepidation:]
....What happened this morning?
no subject
... two people found Vi and part of Fushiguro this morning. Judging by the state they were found in, this wasn't an accident.
no subject
Not... an accident?
[There's only one thing that could mean, but he looks very much like he doesn't want to finish the thought himself and draw the inevitable conclusion. NORMIE DENIAL.]
no subject
No. There are some things that could have been written off, maybe, but others that don't add up. I'm sorry.
[ sorry for having to break the news, he means. normie life is rough. ]
no subject
...So then, you think someone... [...Hesitates. Forces himself to say it.] attacked them?
